Introduction
In the previous article, I called out the need for a solid framework before you date in Colombia, travel here, journey here with remote work, move or begin a transformation.
The next tier of preparedness revolves around spiritual preparation.
The Realities of Spiritual Change
When we think of preparation before a travel, we don’t often think about the metaphysical changes that are about to occur.
If you’re like me, from the USA, traveling 2,000 mile south sends you from one world to the next. There is a cultural, physical, mental, language, emotional, environmental access, availability, human laws and freedoms differences, and overall massively energetic change that is taking place in your daily environment, whether you prepare for it or not.
Spiritual Activities To Do Now
I recommend preparing for the spiritual changes that are about to happen around you, and as a result, inside of you.
1. Meditate. Of course you know I’m going to say this, but taking even 20 minutes each day in meditation, a week before your travel, will help you calibrate some things you might need to be aware of before changing worlds.
2. Visit a Place of Worship. Even if you are not a member of a church or a place of worship, attendance can help prepare for dating in Colombia in a few specific and major ways:
- Thankfulness. Establishing a mindset of thankfulness helps to reduce arrogance that can be unattractive, lead to judgement, fear, or close-mindedness that can greatly impact your travel or dating life. Dating is all about alignment of positive energy. This mindset of thankfulness impacts discernment and detection, resilience to the challenges that happen, and also attraction.
- Protection. If you believe in any aspect of spiritual realities, you may want to receive prayer before travel. There is something greater than ourselves that is in control of the metaphysical as we interact with it — and having a boundary of protection over us as we explore in a foreign country like Colombia, can be essential and also lead us to the right place at the right time.
- Values. Identifying your Dream State is a critical practice we present in DatingInColombia.com and this is all about goals and values alignment to what you really want. Church can help reinforce the values you keep, even if you don’t follow the exact values of whichever church you attend. Just that self-reflection process of who you are and why you are the way you are can be valuable before stepping into the many paths that Colombia presents access to.
3. Start Healing Any Major Stuff Before Travel.
Colombia welcomes men from all walks of life. I’ve seen many men heal from things here. I’ve been one of them. If you’re struggling with addiction, alcoholism, or major depression — start any major healing in the US and then continue it Colombia. Why?
Authentic women you date here are often very spiritually grounded women. They’re looking for that in their man. Depending on your level of connection and difficulty connecting, instabilities doesn’t cause people to leave relationships as easily as it may in The Untied States, but spiritual issues could definitely create problems in your dating life here. The community of people around the woman you date are often aware and protective. Recommendation: Get personal stuff in balance before arrival.
Managing Addiction
As you may have heard, drugs are accessible in Colombia. If it would be a stumbling block for you to have access to recreational or pharmaceutical drugs, do not come to Colombia until you have sured up addictions with a treatment program in your country of residence. In the USA, for example, we have free addiction walk-in centers and recovery programs. Anyone can walk-in and receive treatment. This level of government and non-profit support is not available in Colombia — if you were to come and continue addiction here, it’s likely you’d be living on the street, or worse. We don’t want that for you.
Counseling
Spanish speaking counseling services are available [and awesome in price and quality], but bilingual or English speaking counseling is tough to find in Colombia’. If you’re in counseling, you’ll want to move that digital, and keep your counseling accessible to you while you’re traveling or pursuing life transformation.
